Accommodation in Bethel homestay

The Bethel Home Stay in the Brahamagiri range prides it self in being one of the best home stays in Coorg, Bethel home stay focuses on nature and adventure actvities, It is the only home stay in Coorg themed to get its guests close to Nature that Coorg is so famous for.
 
Bethel home stay is located in South Coorg, near Iruppu falls and the famous Nagarhole forest ( a 100 KM away from Madikeri / Mercara)

Accommodataion in Bethel Home stay is in Swiss and Bamboo cottages, The cottages introduce its guests to the adventure of the jungle without sacrificing any of the amenities of a modern Home.

There are 4 swiss cottages and a Bamboo cottages in Bethel home stay. Each tent is raised clear of the ground and enclosed within a bamboo structure to ensure that the living spaces remain protected and cool irrespective of the temperature outside.

Though all the cottages are electrified and have solar and generator backup to take care of emergencies, we prefer that our guests go with the theme and use traditional lanterns for lighting

Each swiss cottage
  • is fully-furnished
  • designed for 4 adults
  • has attached bathrooms
  • has hot water facilities
The bamboo cottage (we have only 1 of it)
  • has two rooms (each with attached bathrooms)
  • one hall
  • is fully furnished
  • is generally for groups or large families
For those who love the outdoors, proper dome tent accommodations can also be provided.

The rooms are located on a hill slope and offer a spectacular view of the Brahmagiri hills. The estate has a ample virgin forest sections that the guests can trek through to experience the tropical fauna of the Brahmagiri ranges. Guests can use 'machans' that allow them to get a panoramic view of the surrounding hills or just settle down on one the hammocks in the estate.

Activities

The Brahmagiri forest range is blessed with a wide variety of flora and fauna, from the endangered 'Malabar bandit' butterfly that frequents the waters of Irpu falls to the one tonne 'White Socks' Gaur (Indian Bison), all can be found in this range of forests. Water from natural streams and springs crash down gentle hills to form water falls and then merge into rivers here

Bethel home stay encourages its guest to commune with nature. Use the machans to spot some of the 350 birds that inhabit Coorg (we will help you), Wade in crystal clear waters of springs and streams, trek up the hill or taste the adventure of canoeing and white water rafting

Some of our organized activities are as follows

  • 3 KM trek to Sunset point (a mild trek, possible for most people)
  • Trek to Narimale forest camp from Iruppu falls (requires reasonable fitness)
  • Trek to Hanumanthana Betta Peak from Iruppu falls (requires reasonable fitness)
  • Trip to Iruppu falls
  • Jungle safari at Nagarhole wildlife scantuary
  • Jungle safari at Wayanad wildlife scantuary
  • River wading at Kurvadeep islands (Kerala)
  • White water rafting (seasonal, starts from June)

While the above are the commonly organized activities, in general we customize the activities to suit the requirements of our guests, for example, we have organized hard 12 hour treks with overnight camping as well as leisurely estate walks


We also organize Coorg sightseeing tours to Madikeri, Golden Monastry, Bylakuppe, Dubare elephant camp etc. in partnership with other home stays

Food

Take back the taste of dishes like 'Aaki' roti (Flat Rice bread) or 'Pa puttu' or 'Nu Puttu' with Pork which is a speciality here. Apart from this Guests can choose from a spread of North Indian to Chinese or Continental cuisines also.

All our food is sourced locally and we particularly ensure that all our suppliers maintain the quality of their produce
